Leadership Sayings:Jack Welch, one of the world’s most successful CEOs and leader made this quote :
Control your own destiny or someone else will.
Leaders know that they can control their future. They know that if they don’t decide what they want in life, somebody else will tell them what they should want.
In fact, most people live like that; they live life off others’ expectations. They want what others want; because it just seems like a good idea.
One example I can give is people from my university; it’s a business school, so most of my peers want to go into the investment banking industry. When asked why ( I like to check), usually they don’t have an answer.
Usually their answers are like a half-hearted, “ I guess it’s challenging.” or something along those lines.
At the heart of it all, they don’t know what they want with their lives, so they allow the business school culture to tell them what they want.
This means you have to back off from people sometimes, and just be in solitude for a while. It is in your solitude that you can decide what you want to do, and go for it.
Find your own dream, and live it.
