Leadership
Movie Description

What is the movie about?

The Star Wars Trilogy is one of the highest grossing films ever in history first created by George Lucas in 1970s.

Later on in 2005, the 3-part prequel to the initial Star Wars Trilogy was also created, completing the epic film that started a pop culture phenomenon all over the world.

Star Wars is a futuristic film set in space and across many planets in a fictional galaxy, where good and evil wage epic wars in space and on planets.

One of the prominent elements of Star Wars is the "Force", which is a form of energy which can be harnessed by those with that ability.

While there does not seem to be organizational leadership lessons here, there are a lot of self-leadership lessons we can learn from observing the training of the Jedi.

Leadership
Takeaways

1. Do not let fear take root
The famous quote by Yoda says, fear is the path to the Dark Side. Often, our bitterness, resentments often come from fear of something or someone. We must not allow fear to take root in our hearts. It will affect all spectrums of our life.

2. Do not allow excessive attachment to things or people
When we are excessively attached to something or someone, we become addicted. This addiction will pull us back from our potential to achieve all that we can in our lives.

3. Watch our thought life
The famous saying goes: as a man thinks, so is he. We must watch our thought life because everything that we do in our daily lives ultimately begin as a seed in our thoughts. Whether we will become a success or failure in life will be determined by the quality of thoughts we allow in our head.

Best Movie Quotes

“Remember, the Force will be with you. Always.” – Obi-Wan Kenobi

“May the Force be with you.” – Han Solo

“Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate... leads to suffering. I sense much fear in you.”- Master Yoda

“Be mindful of your thoughts, Anakin, they betray you. You have made a commitment to the Jedi Order, a commitment not easily broken.” – Obi-Wan Kenobi

“Attachment is forbidden. Possession is forbidden. Compassion, which I would define as…unconditional love…is essential to a Jedi's life. So, you might say that we are encouraged to love.” – Anakin Skywalker

“You have allowed this Dark Lord to twist your mind until now... until now you have become the very thing you swore to destroy.”- Obi-Wan Kenobi

“Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force. Mourn them, do not. Miss them, do not. Attachment leads to jealousy. The shadow of greed that is.” – Master Yoda
