Leadership Books

Finding good leadership books are essential to your journey as a leader. In your leadership journey, more often than not, you’re giving instead of receiving.
This means you’re often investing your time in others; be it counselling, training, teaching, advising and so on. The thing is that all these actions are good, but you often give of yourself to achieve these things.
But you need to receive too.
A good leader is committed to her personal growth as much as the growth of his team. He understands that the team can only become as good as him and he sees the need to grow so that he can be a better leader to his team.
Although he gives up a lot of time to others, he does not neglect the aspect of receiving as well.
And books are one important source.
As Margaret Thatcher once said, “Great leaders are great readers.”
Indeed so.
You can be a great reader, but not a great leader; but you can never be a great leader without first being a great reader.
In order to grow and continually grow to become better and better, you need to invest in leadership books. By reading leadership books, you’re tapping on the knowledge and experience of many great leaders that have gone before you.

These books talk about personal leadership as well as leadership principles in general. As you can see, John Maxwell is one of my favourite authors as he writes in an engaging but simple way that anyone can understand.
Stephen Covey, on the other hand, has a more business focus in writing his book, but nonetheless, it can be applied to every aspect of your life.
