Ability may get you to the top, but it takes character to keep you there.
In our world we really value skills and talent a lot; athletes, soccer stars, movie stars are all celebrated for their talent in acting, in sports. These people are the highest paid people in the world because of their ability.
But yet, even the top basketball coach in the US states, ability gets you to the top, but it takes character to stay on top.
Mike Tyson was the undisputed heavyweight champion and remains the youngest man ever to win a world heavyweight title at just 20 years old. Tyson was the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world for over two years, before losing a match in 1990. However, after he was convicted of rape in 1992, and by 2003, although he had over US$30 million for several of his fights and $300 million during his career.
You would imagine that $300 million could last you many lifetimes; but here was one man who reached the peak of his career and fell all the way down, all because of a lack of character.
